Introduction
Who We Are
Glisters of Hope Women and Children Development Initiative (GoHDI) is a non-profit organization committed to building healthier, more empowered, and inclusive communities by advancing the rights and well-being of women, children, adolescents, and other vulnerable groups.
Our work focuses on improving health systems, expanding access to quality education, and strengthening community resilience through economic and social empowerment. We collaborate with civil society organizations, development partners, and public and private institutions to drive impactful interventions in maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), reproductive health, gender equality, nutrition, and basic education—particularly in underserved and rural communities.
Founded on the principles of integrity, accountability, and a deep love for humanity, GoHDI seeks to address the systemic challenges that hinder access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. From training healthcare providers and promoting girl-child education to reducing malnutrition and child labour, our goal is to ensure that every individual—regardless of gender or background—has the tools and agency to lead a healthy, productive life.
Our Focus Areas
Here are our six core focus areas.
Strengthening sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health services.
a. Contribute in demand creation for MNCH services.
b. Support the provision of quality MNCH&FP services.
c. Promote Adolescent SRH (Sexual Reproductive Health).
Reducing child malnutrition and preventable diseases
a. Prevention and reduction of Malnutrition among children and other vulnerable groups.
Promoting access to inclusive and life-changing education.
a. Provision of scholarship for Vulnerable groups.
b. We Support Schools and Students with learning materials, e.g (Text books) and teaching aids.
c. We Provide Safe Boarding facilities for orphans of and children in security compromised areas.
d. We provide school services.
Addressing early child marriage and gender-based violence.
a. Mitigation of Early Child Marriage.
b. Reduction of Gender Based Violence.
c. Promoting Equity and Gender equailty.
d. Fight against child labor.
Empowering communities through skills acquisition, cooperatives, and savings groups.
a. We create opportunity for skill acquisition and economic empowerment for Women, Adolescent boys and girls.
b. Provision seed stock or seed funding and start up grants.
c. Skill Acquision Training.
Promote and encourage climate-smart adaptive practices across local communities
